Lee Stempniak officially signed a US$3.8 million, two-year contract with the Phoenix Coyotes on August 31st.

Lee Stempniak's Biography

Lee Stempniak was born February 4, 1983 in West Seneca, New York, USA and currently plays for the Phoenix Coyotes. Lee Stempniak was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft in the 5th round (148th overall).
He led the team in goals in his first full season (2006/07) with 27, while he was just 23 years of age.
He and David Backes joined Jay McClement to form one of the NHL's youngest lines.

On November 24, 2008, Stempniak was traded by the Blues to the Toronto Maple Leafs for Alexander Steen and Carlo Colaiacovo. Lee was again traded March 3 2010 to the Phoenix Coyotes. In return, the Maple Leafs received defenseman Matt Jones and a 4th and 7th round draft pick in the 2010 NHL Hockey Draft

Lee posses quick skating speed and a quick shot as well. Stempniak is also a good two way player, by playing at both ends of the ice. Stempniak usually plays on the first or second line of the Coyotes.
